Every project starts with a free visit to measure your windows and test film samples in your own light.
We identify your glass type and recommend only approved films
Home window tinting adds heat, UV, glare and privacy control to the windows you already have. The International Window Film Association puts residential window film at about one tenth the cost of replacement windows, and it installs in a day or less.
Spectrally selective film rejects much of the infrared heat in sunlight at the glass, so sunny bedrooms, kitchens and family rooms stay comfortable through humid Maryland summers without a darker view.
Best film for heat
Window film can block up to 99.9 percent of UV radiation, according to The Skin Cancer Foundation. That slows fading of hardwood floors, rugs, furniture and artwork, though no film can stop fading completely.
UV blocked
Film softens the glare that washes out TV screens, laptops and video calls, so you can keep the blinds open and still see your screen clearly.
Best film for glare
Reflective film adds daytime privacy, frosted film keeps bathrooms and sidelights private day and night, and safety film helps hold broken glass together after an impact.
Best film for privacy
Paliroc installs four types of home window film. Each one solves a different problem, so we match the film to the room, the glass and how much light and privacy you want.
A near clear film that rejects much of the infrared heat from the sun while letting most visible light through. Rooms stay bright, and the outside of your home keeps its look.
A lightly reflective film for strong heat and glare control with daytime privacy. It reflects less on the inside, so your evening view out stays clearer than with a standard mirror film.
Matte, etched and gradient films for bathrooms, entry door sidelights, glass shower walls and home offices. They soften light and keep rooms private day and night.
A thicker film that helps hold broken glass together after an impact, from a stray ball to a falling branch.
Each film handles heat, UV, glare and privacy differently. Use the tabs to compare untreated glass with the three main home window film types, then book a free assessment to see samples on your own windows.
Heat control
Sun heat passes through
UV protection
UVA rays pass through
Glare control
No glare reduction
Ordinary window glass filters most UVB rays but lets UVA rays through, according to The Skin Cancer Foundation. Sunlight also brings heat and glare inside, which warms upper floors and fades floors and furniture over time.
Heat control
Infrared heat rejected at the glass
UV protection
Up to 99.9 percent blocked
Glare control
Rooms stay bright
The best choice when you want a cooler room without a darker one. The film looks nearly clear, keeps most of your daylight and leaves the outside of your home looking the same.
Heat control
Strong solar heat control
UV protection
Up to 99.9 percent blocked
Glare control
Plus daytime privacy
Best for west facing bedrooms, sunrooms and family rooms that bake in afternoon sun. It adds daytime privacy, and its lower interior reflection keeps your evening view out clearer than a standard mirror film.
Heat control
Privacy comes first
UV protection
Varies by film
Glare control
Soft, even light
Chosen for privacy more than heat. Frosted film blurs the view through bathrooms, entry sidelights and shower glass day and night, and spreads daylight into a soft, even glow.
Ratings compare film types in general. Exact performance depends on the specific film product and your glass.

Glass Types
Not every film suits every window. Film absorbs some solar energy, which adds heat stress to the glass, and the effect depends on the glass type, its size and which way it faces. Film manufacturers publish film to glass charts that match each film to safe glass types, and their warranties follow those charts. During your free assessment we identify your glass, whether single pane, double pane, low E, tempered or laminated, and recommend only films approved for it.
We visit your home, check the sun exposure, identify your glass and measure each window.
We place film samples on your windows so you can see the real tone, brightness and privacy before you decide.
We protect floors and sills, clean the glass and fit the film to each pane. Most homes take half a day to a full day, depending on the number and size of the windows.
We explain the curing time for your film and how to clean it with an ammonia free cleaner and a soft microfiber cloth.

Not if you choose a spectrally selective film. These films look nearly clear and keep most of your daylight while cutting heat and UV. Darker and reflective films are an option when privacy matters more than brightness.
It slows fading but cannot stop it. Film blocks up to 99.9 percent of UV, one of the main causes, but visible light and heat also fade materials over time.
Yes. Many homeowners start with the problem rooms, such as a west facing bedroom, a sunroom or a living room with TV glare.
For heat, glare and UV control, film usually is. The International Window Film Association estimates film costs about one tenth as much as replacement windows and installs in a day or less.
With reflective films, privacy works when it is brighter outside than inside. At night with lights on, people can see in. For privacy at all hours, choose frosted or decorative film.
Maryland tint limits apply to vehicles, not homes. Check any HOA or historic district rules before choosing a reflective film, since some communities control how windows look from the street.
Tell us which rooms get too hot, too bright or too exposed, and we will visit, test samples on your glass and give you a written price.
