Maryland Tint Rules

Car Tint in Maryland Follows the Same Rules in Every County

Maryland window tint law is set by the state, so the limits are the same in Windsor Mill, Columbia and Glen Burnie. Aftermarket tint must let at least 35 percent of light through every side and rear window on a passenger car such as a sedan or coupe. On SUVs, vans and light trucks, only the driver and front passenger windows must meet that limit. Windshield tint is allowed only above the AS1 line or within the top 5 inches, according to Maryland State Police guidance. We check the legal shade for your vehicle before every install.
